- Education:
- 1951 B.A. Bowdoin College

- Experience:
- 1993-1999: Volunteered three days a week nine months a year at the Society
of California Pioneers working on finance and administration.
- 1998-1990: Manager, Life Sciences Administration, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory
(LBL). Coordinated the establishment of three new Divisions and a change in
leadership for the fourth Life Sciences Division.
- 1986-1987: Division Administrator, Biology and Medicine Division, LBL.
Administered the Division and worked with the Division Director on the plans
for reorganization of Life Sciences.
- 1982-1986: Staff Position, Plant Engineering, LBL. Worked on space administration,
LBL long-range facility plans, institutional plans and site development plans.
- 1977-1982: Department Head, Business and Auxiliary Services, LBL.
Responsible for Business Services, including Audit Coordination, Insurance Risk Management,
Cafeteria, Work for Others, and Property Management, Protective Services, and Administrative
Data Processing.
- 1963-1977: Division Administrator, Biology & Medicine Division, LBL.
Introduced the use of a computer-based budget planning and monitoring system.
Responsible for safety, facilities planning and operating which included hospital
units, patient treatment facilities at the accelerators, research animal colony,
and electronic and mechanical shops.
- 1956-1963: Officer and Director, Blake Brothers Company, Richmond, California, manufacturer
of crushed rock, asphaltic concrete, and ready-mix conrete, and general contractors. Coordinated
reorganization plan under which Standard Oil Company of California acquired the assests
of Blake Brothers Company. Experience in real estate management and estate planning.

- President ExL's, LBL Retires Group 1993-1995. Vice President, The Society of California
Pioneers 1996-present. Chair of the Board of Directors Stiles Hall, University YMCA, 1971-1974.

holder of the Silver Beaver Award.
